The Best Ads I Collected Last Week

And what you can learn from them.

This week, YOU, , are joining 1000+ people who’ll get this 8th edition with a new style.

I’m trying to turn this into a newsletter that’s more example-led with insights ranging from marketing and advertising to copywriting, messaging and positioning.

Let’s get going!👇🏻

P.S. Today’s edition will be short and sweet because its Diwali week here in India and I know everyone will be busy celebrating with their loved ones (including me)

Enjoy and have a very very happy Diwali ❤️

Ad 1: Nike

Instead of showing what can be done, show what can be achieved.

Principle: Future Pacing

Ad 2: Crosswalk Hijacking

Stop at a crosswalk to stop the accidents.

The zebra crossing has been turned into a graph to show the rising number of pedestrian deaths.

Principle: Visual disturbance

Ad 3: Abel & Cole

Say you’re unadulterated without saying you’re unadulterated.

Principle: Make it clever

Ad 4: Land Rover

LR telling you exactly why their product is indespensable + targets a mass desire

Principle: Raise the stakes

Ad 5: Vinterior

Sometimes, its about making yourself feel better even if it makes your neighbours feel worse.

Principle: Attack our lust for status.

Ad 6: Amazon Kindle

Add a shock value by pairing copy and visuals that negate each other.

Principle: Visualize until its obvious.
