Tip: Write Copy Based on VIBES

We're officially in the impulse buying season. It's November and BFCM days are upon us. 

Whether you like it or not, you're actively looking for the best deals on something you've always wanted to buy.

I'm sure, I'm not alone, right!?

Anyway, the other day I came across a great ad hook and that's what sparked the idea for this edition.

The fact that impulse buying can also be "activated" is an idea that seems very interesting to me because I'm of the belief that words are the entry point of any action we take.

That's why copywriting exists.

Anyway, I don't want to be too spiritual here but the truth is that if people are buying impulsively, they're trusting nothing but VIBES.

And you can trigger VIBE selling by using phrases like...

"This is Your Sign To"

"I Accidently Found This"

"I Didn't Even Know I Needed This"

"Here's Your Best Shot At"

And the likes. 

These hooks seem less salesy and have more going with the flow energy.

FB, Instagram and TikTok know the kind of stuff we like and are looking at, so the ads we'll be shown will still be relevant...

But the messaging might seem like this is a sign from the universe.

And that's what matters.

It's good to pitch your best offers in the BFCM season.

But you just might discover a new audience by slightly introducing this 11:11 kinda messaging.

2 Examples

1. Rocksbox

This is such a simple hook but paired with that greatest offer, it seems like the perfect time to try it. Again, to me, this does not feel salesy.

Rather something that can easily motivate or activate an impulse buy.

2. Spacegoods

This motivational outcome messaging around your product also hits the nail on your head.

Make your product feel like the only missing ingredient they needed which might feel like a sign from the universe for customers to complete their personal best puzzle of life.

3 Tactics for You

1. Sign from the Universe

Instead of making your ad feel like a carefully crafted sales pitch, make it seem like a sign from the universe.

Use hook phrases that feel like it's a good time to buy this or there's a change coming.

2. Use 11:11 Style Messaging

Make your hooks seem like a wish. Do it on repeat with this framework:

Your wish to [Core Desire] is finally coming true

Example: Your Wish to Lose 10 lbs Before 2024 is Finally Coming True

3. Target Top of Funnel

Don't experiment too much but target people who don't know that your product or brand exists. That way you have an advantage of connecting a deeply emotional story with your product. 

Perfect for impulse buying.
